Portland Funeral Chapel was opened May 26, 1996 by Scott and Kathryn Pruitt Hamm. Kathryn is a third generation funeral director. Scott married into the business in 1962. At that time, the Hamms were running a funeral home in Kentucky, which they did until moving to Portland in 1996. The Hamms have two children who operate H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown, Kentucky. We’re family folks with a great dedication to our professions and those whom we serve. Every funeral is special. We realize the things we do today make the difference in someone’s tomorrow. Little things add up to big differences when selecting a funeral home. We offer at need, pre-need, and after care. Our services are catered to your needs. We offer traditional funerals, graveside services, memorial services, cremations and immediate burials. Please tell us any special requirements that your family has. We will try to work with you in every way possible. We are pleased to be able to serve our community.
